ABOUT / DEVELOPER

I build products by understanding how the whole system fits together.

I’m Stanislav, an independent web developer and product builder based in Swindon, UK. I design and build websites, applications and product features across the interface, backend, data, automation and production infrastructure.

I work directly with clients and also build my own products, so the decisions I make have to survive real users, real data and real production constraints.

HOW IT STARTED

I started by fixing what was broken.

I got into computers around 2013 while studying at college. I was still learning, but I quickly became the person teachers pulled out of class when a computer needed fixing — reinstalling operating systems, setting up software, troubleshooting machines and helping keep the computer rooms working.

I also repaired computers for other people, both software and hardware. At the time I was curious about websites, operating systems and security simply because I wanted to understand what was happening underneath the interface.

Curiosity eventually became more useful when I started building instead of only taking things apart.

For a while I explored computer security and how systems could fail. That curiosity was useful, but I realised fairly quickly that I was much more interested in creating something useful than proving that something could be broken.

Web development gave me exactly that: a way to combine technical problem-solving with design, product thinking and the ability to build something another person can actually use.

WHAT KEEPS IT INTERESTING

The interesting part is usually the part without an obvious solution.

I enjoy inventing unusual product features, removing manual work through automation and turning complicated workflows into something that feels simple to use.

That is why I rarely think about a website as a collection of pages. I think about the people using it, the states it can enter, the data behind it, what can be automated, what can fail and how the whole thing should behave when it reaches production.

I like building functions that make a product feel like its own product.

The work I enjoy most is where the solution is not already sitting in a template library: a different interaction model, an automated workflow, a smarter search experience, an AI-assisted tool, a complex data flow or a small detail that removes friction for the person using it.

Questly, Watchmora and MatchTide are where I test that mindset continuously. They force me to work across product decisions, interface design, backend architecture, APIs, automation, localisation, performance and long-term maintenance instead of repeating the same type of page.

WHAT I WORK ACROSS

Design, systems and the space between them.

I do not expect a client to coordinate separate people for every technical layer of a focused project. I can work across the product from the public interface to the systems running behind it.

Product & interface

Product structure, responsive UI, interaction design, accessibility, conversion flows and interfaces that stay understandable as functionality grows.

Application engineering

Laravel applications, data models, authentication, roles, APIs, queues, scheduled processing, integrations and administration systems.

  • Laravel / PHP
  • PostgreSQL / MySQL
  • Redis
  • APIs & integrations
  • Queues & schedules
  • Admin systems

AI & automation

Useful AI features built around actual product workflows — not AI added for decoration. I work especially with OpenAI APIs for structured generation, extraction, classification, semantic workflows, recommendations and automation.

Performance & measurement

Fast delivery matters after launch, not only during a demo. I work with Core Web Vitals, frontend/backend performance, technical SEO and analytics implementation so the product can be measured and improved.

  • Production monitoring

OWNED PRODUCTS

The best proof of how I work is in the products I have to keep running.

These are not concept pieces. I design, build, operate and improve them as real products.

Questly

A mobile and web challenge product built around participation, proof, discovery and social product rules.

Watchmora

A movie and TV discovery product combining search, recommendations, personal taste, localisation and automated data workflows.

MatchTide

A football data product combining changing public data, APIs, background processing, localisation and performance-focused presentation.

HOW I WORK

Direct communication, clear scope and fewer layers between a decision and the person building it.

Work directly with the developer

There is no account manager translating the project back and forth. The person discussing the problem with you is also responsible for designing and building the solution.

Build the useful version first

I would rather define the smallest version that proves the important workflow than spend budget on features that exist only because they looked good in a specification.

Treat production as part of the product

Performance, accessibility, SEO foundations, reliability, analytics and maintainability are part of the build — not a cleanup list after the visual work is finished.

A SMALLER DETAIL

I still enjoy figuring out why something behaves differently from how it should.

That can be a product workflow, an API, a slow page, a device, a network problem or some repetitive process that should not need a person doing it manually. The subject changes; the part I enjoy is understanding the system well enough to make it work better.

WORK WITH ME

Have a project that needs more than a standard implementation?

Describe what you are trying to build, what already exists and what the difficult part is. I will review it directly.
